Site Disclaimer

This page explains what EquityBankLoan is, what our information can and cannot tell you, and what to check before you act on anything you read here.

What this site is

EquityBankLoan publishes educational and informational content about home equity products, including home equity lines of credit and home equity loans.

We are not a bank, a lender, a mortgage broker, a loan officer, or a loan servicer, and we are not financial advisers. We do not make credit decisions, we do not take applications, and nothing on this site is a loan offer.

Information changes

Rates, APRs, fees, minimum and maximum loan amounts, credit score and equity requirements, state availability, and lender policies all change, sometimes without notice.

Most of what we publish about a lender is information that lender published itself, and we link the page we read it on. Where a figure is our reading of what a lender said, rather than a figure the lender stated plainly, we label it as ours so you can tell the two apart.

Two different dates matter, and we keep them separate. When a lender states that a figure is effective as of a particular date, we show that date, because it belongs to the lender. We also show the date we last checked the source ourselves. A recent check by us does not make an older lender-dated figure current. It only tells you when we last looked.

Anything we work out ourselves, including calculator results and comparison outcomes, is arithmetic on the figures shown. It is not a statement by the lender.

We do not guarantee accuracy or completeness

We work hard to represent our sources faithfully, and our method is designed to catch mistakes. It does not catch all of them.

Neither our AI-assisted research nor Michael’s editorial review can promise that every fact, interpretation, calculation, or statement on this site is correct, complete, or current. A source can be misread. A footnote can be missed. A lender can change a term the day after we read it.

What “Reviewed by Michael Yanda” means

When a page or a lender record says it was reviewed by Michael Yanda, it means he examined that specific version of the information against the sources it cites and against our editorial standards, using what those sources said on the date shown.

It does not mean the information has been certified, independently confirmed with the lender, or guaranteed to be correct. It is a record of a careful reading on a particular day, not a warranty.

Check with the lender before you decide

Before you apply for anything, or make a decision that depends on a number you read here, confirm the current rates, terms, fees, and eligibility requirements directly with the lender.

What a lender actually offers you will depend on your credit, your income, your property, where it is, how much you want to borrow, and other factors we cannot see. Advertised terms are a starting point, not your offer.

About our calculators

Our calculators do arithmetic on the numbers you type in, using the assumptions shown on the page. The results are estimates, meant to help you understand how these products work.

They are not loan quotes, approvals, preapprovals, or predictions of what a lender will give you. Your actual payment and costs will come from your lender.

This is not financial advice

Nothing here is individualized financial, legal, tax, or lending advice, and none of it accounts for your particular situation. Borrowing against your home is a serious decision, with your home as collateral. For advice about your own circumstances, talk to a qualified professional.

Money and commercial relationships

EquityBankLoan currently makes no money. There is no advertising, there are no affiliate links, and no lender or financial company compensates us in any way.

If that changes, we will update this page and how we make money, name the kind of arrangement, and disclose any link that earns us money at the point of the link.

Something wrong?

If a figure on this site does not match what the lender publishes, tell us through the contact page and we will check it against the source.
